Soul to hands of God, being 4 score years & more. To eldest son Robert Ward, all houses, yards & grounds in Needham Market, held by copy court roll of Barking & Earl Stonham manors for life; he keeping houses in good repair, & on his death, same to go to his son Robert. Whereas there is remaining in brother in law John Knappe's hands, the sum of £100 which he, by testator's consent, with 1 surety is to be bound to pay said sum to testator's youngest son Thomas Ward in 1 year after the date of this will, now said Thomas, before he has assurance made to him to pay the £100, is to be bound with 1 surety to allow exor to have benefit & profit of this sum for 1 year after,testator's death, or else he is to abate of the £100 by the sum of £8-this to be at the choice of the said Thomas. To each child of daughter Ann & her husband John Neave, namely Joan, John, Thomas, Edmund, William & Anne, 20s. each when 21. On the 1911 census Ada's husband Edward Plamer is shown as a Restaurant Proprietor and on the 1939 register as a caterer, he was born in Yarmouth, Norfolk in 14 February 1877. They had two children - Gladys Palmer (born 1906) and Mabel G M Palmer (born 1911), both born in Gorleston, Norfolk. Edward Palmer died in the Yarmouth district in 1947 aged 68 and was buried at Great Yarmouth Cemetary on 14th June 1947.
