Since John died before his mother, the Baroness of Holand, he never received that title, although his father held the title in right of his wife, and his son inherited the title through him.

In her will Joan left money to the Friars of Norwich, Yarmouth and Gorleston and to the nuns of Norwich Hospital in Yarmouth besides the Prisoners of Norwich Castle to whom she gave 4d a week in milk and bread "as long to continue as £2 will last". She also left some money "to the way from Ingate Church to the town of Beccles". Ingate Church was at the junction of Derby Road and Kemp’s Lane on the northern side. It was pulled down at the orders of Queen Elizabeth in 1588 and the money from the sale of the fabric etc was given for the relief of Dunwich. The Executor was to be : "My beloved son and trusty friend my eldest son William Rede.

Daniel and Mary Ann Brooks had one child, William who was born in Clacton in 1845. Mary died in 1848 and was buried at St Luke Church, Old Street in Finsbury on 29 November 1848, she was 22 years old.
Daniel and his second wife Elizabeth Coates had two children, Ann Elizabeth Luff was born in 1847 in Shoreditch, London and John Luff was born in 1853 at Shoreditch, London.
Daniel joined the Metropolitan Police on 9th March 1846 and was promoted to a Sergeant on 18th March 1868, he
