Thomas first wife Catherine died in 1808 and was buried at Chatham St Mary on 28 June 1808. The had a daughter called Mary Elizabeth Durrant who was christned on 2 April 1797 and a son also called Thomas who was baptized on 19 Sept 1800 and died in 1810, being buried on 27 June 1810 at Chatham St Mary's,

Thomas married Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Richard Smith and Mary Clack, on 28 May 1812 in Rochester St Margaret, Kent. (Elizabeth Smith was born in 1793 in Fen Stanton, Huntingtonshire, christened on 3 February 1793 in Fen Stanton, Huntingtonshire, died in 1865 in Chatham, Kent and was buried on 19 November 1865 in St Mary's Church, Chatham, Kent.)
