On gravestone at Tenterten St Mildred Churchyard:
John MERCER, late of this parish, Yeoman, died 19th July 1806, aged 78. Had issue by Mary his wife, John who died 11th July, 1759, aged 4 years; Sarah, who died 6th May 1799, aged 28. Left surviving Robert, Thomas, Mary, Elizabeth, John, Ann, William and Joseph. Mary his wife, died 11th August, 1809, aged 75.
Mary married John Mercer on 29 April 1754 in Tenterden, Kent. (John Mercer was born in 1728, died on 19 July 1806 in Tenterden, Kent and was buried on 24 July 1806 in Tenterden, Kent.)
