From his first marriage to Frances Stebbings Arthur had two children - John Penning (1557-1591) and Elizabeth Penning (1559-1601) who married Simon Blomfield of Monks Eleigh. Frances died in 1559.
On tombstone in Kettleburgh chuch:
"Here lyeth buryed the body of Arthur Pennyng gentleman who deceased the XXlll day of December Anno Dominia 1593 being about the age of 65 yeres".
