Christopher Brooks
General Notes: Christopher Brooks had a few apprentices, in 1769 it was William Buckingham and in 1771 Robert Lewis both of whom were a Glover (glove seller). In 1773 Isaac Whayman was a Glover and Breechesmaker (breech seller). And in 1780 it was John Thursby who was also a Glover. Noted events in his life were: • Occupation: Glover, 1770, Wickham Market, Suffolk. • Marriage: to Elizabeth Rush, 9 January 1770, Burgh, Suffolk. Christopher married Elizabeth Rust, daughter of William Rust and Anne Dynes, on 9 January 1770 in Burgh, Suffolk. (Elizabeth Rust was born in 1748 in Culpho, Suffolk, christened on 9 October 1748 in Culpho, Suffolk, died in 1816 in Ipswich, Suffolk and was buried on 4 January 1816 in St Matthew, Ipswich.) |
