Here alfo lieth the Body of John Son of Richard and Elizabeth Smith, Who departed this life the 3rd Day of November 1759, Aged 70 Years.

A few weeks before her marriage to Richard Smith, her deceased fathers property was sold by her mother. Hutchins: West Whiteway: Edward Seymour "who sold it by the name of "two copyhold tenements, parcels of the said manor in the tenure of John Bile and Christian Paris", to William Collins of the parish of Corfe Castle, 20 Nov 1615, 13 Jac. 1. He at the same time sold another copyhold tenement, also parcel of this manor, to John Cockram then tenent thereof. The latter was afterwards called Cockram's, and subsequently Christopher's tenement." 26 Nov 1685, Henry Dolling, of Dorchester, gent. Sarah Collins, widow of William Collins, late of Remescombe, gent. Elizabeth, Martha and Mary Collins, daughters and coheirs of the said William and Sarah, conveyed Byle's tenement alias West Whiteway farm, containing 181 acres of land and 150 acres of heath, also Parishe's tenement, containing 27 acres, to John Lanning of East Lynch, yeoman
Named in her mother's will of 15 Dec 1701:
Item: I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Smith my greate silver cup and one silver spoone and a cubarde that is in the chamber over the outer roome and my green rug. Item: I give my black mantel to Elizabeth Smith my daughter and as for the reste of my goodes my will is that it be equally devided between my three daughters before named.
