John Rede

  General Notes:

In his will John Rede left £8 or £9 for his gravestone, £162 over six years to charity that was to go to the poor of Beccles and 26 villages round. Another £83 was to go to the friaries of Norwich and Yarmouth over six years and he gave to the sick folks about Norwich gates £2 and Beccles Hospital 12shillings over 6 years.

• Occupation: Mayor of Norwich, 1496, Norfolk, Norwich.

• Marriage: to Joan Ludlow.

• Marriage: to Isable Stanley.

John married Joan Ludlow, daughter of William Ludlow and Margaret Rymer. (Joan Ludlow was born in 1450 and died in 1519.)
