General Notes:
In 1884 a pew was moved in the Boxford Church to find the stone of "William Doggett. It was found to be an altar tomb, having the inscription on a handsome black marble slab with four brasses engraved with arms on the four corners. The Inscription:
"Here lyeth William. Doggett, marchant adveterer Citizen and mercer of London and free of the East India Company who tooke to wife Avis Lappadge ye Daught. of Thomas Lappage of Boxford, w'th who he lyved 19 years & had Issve by her 6 sones & 6 davgters. Ye said Will' dep'ed this life ye 10th of Octobr 1610 beinge of the age of 53 years."
Avis Lappage married her 1st cousin William Doggett.
