Sir Ralph Shelton
General Notes: Sir Ralph Shelton, High Sheriff of Norfolk in the mid-15th century paid for a built the cheurch at Shelton in Norfolk. He was present at the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth, wife of Henry VII and was one of the executors and witness to the will of his mother-in-law Elizabeth Clere. Noted events in his life were: • Marriage: to Joan Unknown. • Marriage: to Margaret Clere. Ralph married Lady Margaret Clere, daughter of Robert Clere and Elizabeth Uvedale. (Lady Margaret Clere was born in 1438 in Ormseby, Norfolk, died on 16 January 1500 and was buried in January 1500 in Shelton, Norfolk.) |
