Alfred's brother George married Mary Ann Newick who was the sister of Rose Ann Newick.

As his father was dead at the time of his marriage his father on his marriage certificate is listed as Edward Brooks who was his mother's second husband (after the late William Nutter).

After Alfred Nutter died in 1929 and his wife Gertrude (Bean) married Percey Staples a year later in 1930, she died in Maidstone, Kent in 1967 aged 80.

Alfred married Rose Ann Newick, daughter of Henry Newick and Sarah Ann Lewis, on 25 December 1897 in Milton near Canterbury, Kent. (Rose Ann Newick was born in 1881 in Faversham, Kent, died in 1910 in Greenwich, London and was buried on 25 May 1910 in Greenwich Cemetery, London.)
