Edward Walgrave
General Notes: In December 1541 Edward Walgrave along with many others including his future wife, Joan Ackworth, were indicted in connection with the trial for adultery of Queen Catherine Howard with Francis Derham. He was charged with "with holding from His Majesty the King knowledge of certain letters which has been confiscated from a chest". He was sent to the Tower of London during the trial and recieved a life sentence but was later pardoned. His future wife was also pardoned. Noted events in his life were: • Residence: Rivers Hall, Boxsted, Essex. Edward married Joan Ackworth, daughter of George Ackworth and Margaret Wilberforce, in June 1556. (Joan Ackworth was born in 1512 in Lawford, Essex, died in December 1590 in Lawford, Essex and was buried on 10 December 1590 in Lawford, Essex.) |
