George was educated at Peterhouse College, Cambridge from 6 July 1685. He entended Bury St Edmunds School in 1686 and gained a BA (1688-1689) and MA (1692).
George was ordained as a priest on 20 December 1691 in London and was the rector of Raydon in Suffolk from 1702 to his death in 1730.
On a tombstone in the church at Raydon is writen in Latin but a rough translation comes out as: "The Church ( of Raydon ) Recently, the Rector , who married Elizabeth , the eldest daughter of John Brand of arms , which have made this Marble mourning the death of March 19 Or , Dom, his 1729 Etaris".
