Letter from Phillipa Gurdon to Thornhagh Gurdon of Letton, dated 12 March 1768:
I must beg pardon for the trouble I am giving you but I know by experance you are all wais ready to assist those that stand in need and I shall allwais greatfully remember with thanks the favours I have recd from you - my son is with Brother Clarke as you advisd he likes the business and hope will doe very well: he is to be bound an aprentice to him very soon.
On her tombstone at Stoke By Nayland:
In memory of Philippa Gurdon, relict of Parker Gurdon, Rector of Cranworth, in Norfolk, and daughter of George Clarke, late Rector of Raydon, in Suffolk, who died April 11, 1779, aged 65.
Here lieth two of her grandchildren, Eliza and Philip Kemdall, who died infants.

Phillipa married Rev Parker Gurdon, son of John Gurdon and Letitia Cooke. (Rev Parker Gurdon was born in 1709 in Assington, Suffolk, christened on 22 August 1709 in Assington, Suffolk, died on 13 June 1762 in Cranworth Cum Letton, Norfolk and was buried on 13 June 1762 in Cranworth Cum Letton, Norfolk.)
