Parker graduated from Queens College Cambridge on 13 June 1728 with a BA 1731-2, MA.

Parker Gurdon was a private chaplin to the Earl of Sunderland from the 12th Sptember 1746 and was the rector of Burgh in Norfolk in 1750 and Cramworth also in Norfolk from 1753 until his death in 1762.
