John's first wife Maria Potter was born in 1827 and died in 1855 and was buried at Earl Stonham, Suffolk on 17 January 1855.

John's second wife Elizabeth Horrix was born in Earl Stonham in 1832 and was baptised there on 1 July 1832 to John and Susan Horrix.

After John Lockwood died his wife Elizabeth went on to marry James Lambert
