John Beaumont was known as the "2nd Baron Beaumont".

John married Eleanor of Lancaster, daughter of Earl Henry of Lancaster and Maud de Chaworth, on 6 November 1330. (Eleanor of Lancaster was born on 11 September 1318, died on 11 January 1372 in Arundel, Sussex and was buried in January 1372 in Lewes Priory, Lewis, Sussex.)
