Advert for auction of goods in Ipswich Jounal 8 October 1785:

To be sold by auction by Augustine Read on Wednesday October 12 and following days, The stock in trade of Mr Tho. Gurdon, of Saxmundham. consisting of men's plains, serges, coatings, corderoys, &c.; Linen-drapery, haberdashery, hosiery, perfumery, &c. The whole to be sold in small lots, to accommodate the retail buyers.

Advert for Queens Head Inn, Woodbridge, Suffolk in Ipswich Journal 29 April 1786:

Queen's Head Inn, Woodbridge, being fitted up neat and decently by THORN. GURDON he solicits a continuance of the former friends of the trade and a share of the favours of the public, assuring them neat wines and other liquors of the best qualities, proper attendance and civil treatment. Travellers may depend on good sleeping rooms, clean beds, and the best accommodation in his power, with the most hearty acknowledgements. Neat post-chaises with able horses, also a hearse to let.

From Ipswich Jounal 5 November 1791:

To be sold by auction by Augustine Read on Tuesday Nov 8, and following days, All the household furniture and other effects, of the late Mr Thornhaugh Gurdon at the Queen's Head Inn in Woodbridge; consisting of 10 bedsteads, with morine, cheney, cotton and other furnitures; good goose feather beds and beding; mahogany and wainscot tables, chest of drawers, pier and dressing glasses and general furniture. The sale to begin each morning at Ten o'clock. Catalogues to be had at the Auctioneers, Woodbridge and on the premises.

Thornhaugh left £300 in his will to his wife Elizabeth.

Thornhaugh married Susan Reason, daughter of Edmund Reason and Elizabeth Neville, in They Never Married. (Susan Reason was born in 1761 in Hadleigh, Suffolk, christened on 26 February 1761 in Hadleigh, Suffolk, died in 1815 in Creeting St Peter, Suffolk and was buried on 5 May 1815 in Creeting St Peter, Suffolk.)
