Margaret Beauchamp
General Notes: Via her second marriage, Margaret Beauchamp was the mother of Lady Margaret Beaufort, Countess of Richmond and Derby, who married Edmund Tudor, 1st Earl of Richmond, and became the mother of Henry VII of England. Margaret was thus the grandmother of King Henry VIII. Noted events in her life were: • Marriage: to Sir Oliver St John, 1425, Bletsoe, Bedfordshire. • Marriage: to Sir John Beaufort, 1439, Westminster, Middlesex. • Marriage: to Lord Lionel Welles, 20 April 1447, Welles, Lincolnshire. Margaret married Sir Oliver St John in 1425 in Bletsoe, Bedfordshire. (Sir Oliver St John was born in 1398 in Penmark, Glamorgan, Wales and died in 1437 in Bletsoe, Bedfordshire.) |
