General Notes: Philip Booth was knighted on 17 November 1501 as part of the celebrations during the marriage of Prince Arthur. He was made a JP in 1501, 1509 and 1515. He had only one child via his first marriage. Noted events in his life were: • Marriage: to Margaret Hopton, 1485, Shrubland Hall, Coddenham, Suffolk. • Occupation: Sheriff of Norfolk & Suffolk, Justice of the Peace for Suffolk. Philip married Margaret Hopton, daughter of Sir William Hopton and Mary Wentworth, in 1485 in Shrubland Hall, Coddenham, Suffolk. (Margaret Hopton was born in 1465 in Swillington, West Riding, Yorkshire.) |
