General Notes: On 17th February 1490, Sir Robert Lytton purchased Knebworth House from Sir Thomas Bourchier for £800. Sir Robert fought with Henry VII at Bosworth and became under Treasure to the Household and a close Confidant. Noted events in his life were: • Marriage: to Elizabeth Andrews, 1486, Litton, Derbyshire. Robert married Elizabeth Andrews, daughter of John Andrews and Elizabeth Stratton, in 1486 in Litton, Derbyshire. (Elizabeth Andrews was born in 1446 in Baylham, Suffolk and died in 1542 in Knebworth, Hertfordshire.) |
