William Luff

  General Notes:

William was a witness at his Aunt Anne Daniels Marriage in Debenham in 1816.

After William Luff's first wife died in 1827 he re-married the following year to Lydia Giles and they had three children: Susannah Luff (born 1830 baptised 9 May 1830 Wetheringsett), Betsey Luff (born 1832), Lydia (born 1834) Rachel Luff (born 1836, baptised 7 August 1836, Wetheringsett), Eliza Luff (born 1839 baptised 31 March 1839, Wetheringsett and buried 17 March 1840 at Wetheringsett) and William Luff (born 1841).

Susannah Luff was a witness at her half sister's Mary Luff wedding at Sproughton in 1847.

William Luff's second wife Lydia died in September 1860 and was a buried on 30 September 1860 at Wetheringsett, she was 61 years old.

On the 1861 census William is living with his daughter Rachel Barrott (from his second marriage) and her husband George.

From the Bury & Norwich Journal dated and the Ipswich Journal dated Saturday 16 April 1870:

GANG LICENCES - Gang Licences were renewed to William Luff, for Wetheringsett, Thorndon, Aspall and Mendlesham.

William married Mary Daniels, daughter of Benjamin Daniels and Ann Wollege, on 8 November 1819 in Debenham, Suffolk. (Mary Daniels was born on 5 September 1794 in Winston, Suffolk, christened on 14 September 1794 in Winston, Suffolk, died on 13 April 1827 in Wetheringsett Cum Brockford, Suffolk and was buried on 13 April 1827 in Wetheringsett Cum Brockford, Suffolk.)
