Philip's wife Maria Keen was born in Nacton, Suffolk in 1821 and was baptised there on 18 November 1821 to Robert and Rebecca Keen (nee Mann).

Philip Knights was a witness at his brothers James Knights wedding in Nacton, Suffolk in 1835 and his other brother John Knights in 1837 also in Nacton.
