Matthew Sankey

  General Notes:

Matthew had five children from his first marriage to Mary Chambers, she died in 1740 and was buried at Harbledown, Kent on 11 December 1740. He had no children from his second marriage to Ann Holman and no children to Elizabeth Rose his wife from his third marriage.

His third wife Elizabeth was buried in St Mary's Church, Chislet on 20 July 1787 and at the church is an medallion measures 23½inch in diameter which states:

"In Memory of Elizabeth SANKEY who died July 20 1787 Aged 81 years. She was Relict of Matthew Sankey of Harbledown & Daughter of the Rev. Wm YOUNG Vicar of this Parish by Ann his Wife".
