Albert was 6 years old when he was baptised and this took place on the same day that his brother William George Hamlin and sister Harriet Elizabeth Hamlin were christened.

Albert was educated at Clapham School in South London and from 8 September 1890 he went to Upper Kennington Lane School in Lambeth London. Also starting the same school on the same day was his brother William George Hamlin.

Albert's sister Charlotte was a witness at his wedding, and he was also a witness at his other sister Bertha's wedding in 1912.

On the 1911 census was Henry Hamlin (aged one), Albert and Annie's son and Nellie Hunter who is shown as "adopted", she was 6 years old. On the 1919 immigration record her surname is shown as Hamlin.

Other children born to them was - Annie E Hamlin, born 1912.

Albert first left for Canada in 1913 leaving from the port of Liverpool and arriving in Canada on 12 April 1913 in the port of Halifax, Nova Scotia. His wife Annie, their daughter Annie and son Henry OW Hamlin and their adopted daughter Nellie followed in August arriving in Quebec, Canada on 23 August 1913.

Albert's wife Annie died on 10 March 1916 aged 39 years old, she passed away from septicaemia following a miscarriage. Albert was the informant and gave his address as 505 Ontario St, London. Annie Mary Bateman was born in Ware, Hertford in 1879.

On 19 August 1919, Albert, Henry, Nellie and Annie (daughter) arrived in London on board the ship Scotian from Quabec, Canada. And on 6th June 1924 Albert returned to Canada this time sailing from Southampton and he was on his own, arriving in Quebec on 15 June 1924, this time he stayed in Canada never to return to England.
